I have been eating 400-500 calories below my maintenance calories and pretty clean to cut down on fat. However, I have not been seeing as much progress on the scale as I would like. The one unhealthier aspect of my daily routine is my sleep schedule. I have only been getting 4-6 hours of sleep per night. I have been wondering recently if my sleep deficiency has been affecting my ability to lose as much weight as I would like.

Interestingly enough, increasing your sleep can have a pretty significant impact for losing weight. A study from UChicago Medicine says that individuals who increased their sleep duration were able to reduce their caloric intake by an average of 270 kcal per day. Over three years, this would add up to an extra 26 pounds lost.
